A completely normal month at The PumpHouse

June at The PumpHouse Theatre is shaping up to be wonderfully unhinged in the best possible way.

Things kick off with 'Hadestown: Teen Edition' from StageAntics (3–6 June), proving that Greek mythology and heartbreak sound even better with a cast of fearless young performers. Then the North Shore Concert Band takes audiences on a journey through Oceania's musical heritage in 'Beneath Southern Skies' (7 June), showcasing the music from our own backyard with warmth, nostalgia, and a whole lot of brass.

Mid-month gets gloriously strange thanks to Company of Giants, who are bringing their beautifully chaotic, award-winning show, 'A Vaudeville of Flowers' (16–20 June), to Tāmaki Makaurau from Whangārei. This treat for the whole family is visually stunning and filled with songs, poetry and mime performed by a troupe of puppets, animals, clowns and flowers! 'A Vaudeville of Flowers' is supported by a legacy gift from Tim Bray Theatre Company, ensuring that theatre for children continues at The PumpHouse.

We’re delighted to have Pform.nz back in the building with 'Platform & Passion' on 26 June, a night dedicated to young performers and their talents.

And then? The sequins arrive! 'The Biggest Drag Carnival Circus' presented by drag queen, Lady Armilade, is on for one night only on 27 June, promising outrageous drag glamour, circus mayhem, incredible vocalists. This will be a night filled to the brim with entertainment.

Finally, Jubilation Choir closes out the month on 28 June with rich a cappella harmonies and rock ’n’ roll spirit – the perfect finale to a packed and joyful June. You’ll want to get in quick if you want a seat for this, with star power in the choir like Jackie Clarke and Jennifer Ward-Lealand, Jubilation events always sell out fast!

Winter’s looking surprisingly lively! Come in from the cold and get warm with some theatre. You know you want to!
