We need your help to support a thriving Pupukemoana

If you love Pupukemoana as much as we do, this month we have a range of initiatives you can participate in to help the health of the lake and surrounding waterways.

Killarney Park clean-up

Join your community for our monthly rubbish clean-up of Killarney Park on 23 March.
Unfortunately, rubbish often accumulates in Killarney Park, much of which can end up in Lake Pupuke. This beautiful lake and its surrounding parks are home to native species of birds, fish and eels that rely on a clean environment.

Restore Together - Auburn Reserve clean-up

Whether you're a bird lover, conservation enthusiast, or just looking to give back and meet like-minded people, there's a spot for you at Restore Together. In our monthly working bees, we tackle pest plants, clear rubbish and plant trees. If you’re keen, scan the QR code to register.

Check, clean, dry on Pupukemoana

Freshwater pests can be spread by your activities in and around waterways. Right now, we’re trying to keep freshwater gold clam out of Pupukemoana. If you've been in a lake, river, stream or wetland and plan to move to another within 48 hours, you must clean all your gear that has been wet using the 'Check, clean, dry' method. Keep an eye out for our team around Pupukemoana to learn more.
