Around 50 local residents gathered at Belmont Racquets Club on Thursday 23 July to hear about plans to restore the historic Bayswater clubhouse. Takapuna Boating Club Commodore Wendy Baker shared the building’s history, outlined the restoration work required, and presented the vision for its future. Guests also heard the findings of a recent community survey, revealing what locals would like the restored clubhouse to offer. A lively Q&A session followed, along with refreshments and opportunities to meet restoration committee members and neighbours. The evening highlighted the strong community support for preserving and revitalising this much-loved local landmark.
